It should be admitted that nowadays the economy has been developing quickly and people’s living standard has greatly improved. However, the environment is becoming more and more serious. The atmosphere is quite disappointing, factories and cars keep giving off exhausts into the air, we can hardly see the blue sky with our naked eyes, because the sky is covered with a thick layer of harmful substances. The sky is gray instead of blue. So, for the sake of our future generations, we have to save our environment. Many people think that pollution cannot be stopped if we want the economy to continue developing. However, in my opinion, there are many things that can be done. My suggestion is that we need to think more about recycling. It would be beneficial to expand our recycling industry, which is the key to helping developing economy and reduce pollution. We should produce more things from recycled materials and less from materials taken directly from the environment, which means we don’t need to cut down more trees and cause the destruction of more forests. In addition, more effective laws are to be made to preserve the environment, which still allow the economy to grow. In a word, to care for nature and the environment, we should “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and respond”. My dream is to live in a world without pollution and people can live in harmony with nature.Nowadays , many people are talking about living a low carbon life. I think every one is responsible for the greenhouse gases we emit in our daily actions and choices. Therefore, combating climate change is going to take the combined efforts of everyone on the planet.As a student of Senior high, although I can’t transform our world into a more beautiful place on my own at once, I can do my own part in small ways and encourage our classmates and people around me to follow my lead to build a green campus.
The green campus is not only the environmental being green, but also the spirit being green, which means we should do other things like helping each other or caring each other. Therefore, we should both beautify the campus environment and create a campus culture. On one hand, in environmental term, we should have good habits to keep campus in a clean surrounding. For example, faced with the tough competition in life, everyone has different ideas about what makes them happy. Some people can still search for happiness while few others often feel tired and disappointed and from the point of their view, life is meaningless and there is no joy in life. In my opinion, those people who can still search for happiness even during times of a personal catastrophe are admirable. The gymnast Sang Lan is a good example of someone who is happy with her life, even when people expect her to be sad. After she became disabled because of her injury in the Goodwill Game in 1998 , instead of crying about what she had lost and feeling hopeless, Sang Lan thought about what she could do to get better. At the same time, she felt thankful to be alive and lucky to have the rest of her life to learn new things. She amazes the world by the way she remains cheerful and finds happiness through reaching much smaller goals and through the love of the people around her. In fact, there are many ways to stay happy in our daily life. As we all know, humorous people and things will bring us happiness, so we read more jokes and watch funny films. We can even follow in the footsteps of some famous comedians and try to make others happy. Besides, we can take part in voluntary work, hoping to help others solve problems. As students, good grades and praises from teachers and parents will make us happy so that we can have a sense of achievement. The most importantly, we should stay positive and smile a lot. I hope everything in the future will be better. For example, I will be an adult then. In the future, I will be more mature and be able to make my own decisions and do the things that I enjoy. In addition, with the rapid development of science and technology, our life will be more and more convenient. For instance, we will have handy robots and computers to assist us with the things that are boring. This will simplify our lives. Maybe there will even be automatic kitchens to cook instant meals for us. As to what makes a good student, different people have different views. According to me, a good student should be honest and kind to others. If he does something wrong, he admits his mistake and apologizes without hesitation. A good student is always ready to help his friends when they are in trouble. A good student is one who is absorbed in his studies. He is willing to learn and able to learn. He makes full use of his time to learn both in and out of class. Besides studying, he also likes sport and is involved in after-school activities. To enjoy popularity, we are supposed to regard the class as our big family and even offer to sacrifice our personal interests whenever necessary. While taking an active part in all our class activities, we should work responsibly to build up a good reputation as a team. Teachers get annoyed when they catch students cheating on exams; consumers get hurt when they unfortunately buy some fake products; children are misled when they see their parents tell lies so as to evade the responsibility they should take. Why do people cheat? The main reason probably lies in immediate interest they may obtain by cheating. For example, a company, which manufactures fake products, may seem to win for a moment because it can minimize its manufacture cost by doing so. This kind of businesses, however, will be driven out of the market in the long run. For the consumers after getting to know the poor quality of the products will not buy them anymore. The same is true of individuals. Dishonest people dare not take on the responsibility of life. They cheat in class, in office, at home and so on. But the truth can hardly be masked. The moment the truth comes out they will lose their credibility, which is easier to destroy than to rebuild. Consequently, these dishonest will suffer a long time because of their cheating behaviors. It goes without saying that the youth is the best time of life, during which one’s mental and physical states are at their peaks. It takes relatively less time and pains to learn or accept new things in a world full of changes and rapid developments. In addition, one is less likely to be under great pressure from career, family and health problems when young. All he has to do is go to school and spend a few hours studying when he came home. The society distinguish ourselves as a new social group. This generation have obvious advantages since we are brought up in favorable family circumstances. But there also exist some weaknesses in the way we think, behave and in our characters. Though most of us are intelligent , some are comparatively less capable of handling our social and living affairs. When we meet something unexpected, we don’t know how to solve it. Some, even phone home to ask what to do each time they run into any problem. They feel weak at knowing how to conduct themselves in boarding school for this is the first time for them to live independently. Some have no ambition to do anything, and they can never succeed unless they see their foolishness and change their courses. I think we should not blame all this on them.
