Teaching aim
1. Knowledge aims
To master the nature and function of infinitive, verb-ing and berb-ed.
2. Ability aims
① To enable students to apply the strategies of working out exercises relevant to these forms.
② To improve students’ ability of self-exploration and cooperating with others.
3. Emotional aim: To develop a sense of achievement by solving problems.
Teaching important and difficult points
1. the tenses and voices of infinitive ,verb-ing and verb-ed
2. the differences between infinitive ,verb-ing and verb-ed used as the attributive, the object complement and the adverbial.
3. the agreement between the logical subject and the subject of the sentence.
4. independent genitive structure
5. some fixed expressions
Teaching procedures
Step1. Lead in
Lead to the grammar by talking about the coming sports meeting.
Step2. Presentation
1. Encourage students to analyze the function and usage of infinitive, verb-ing and berb-ed form.
2. Explain some important and difficult points about infinitive, verb-ing and berb-ed form.
Step3. Practice
Finish some exercises in a limited time period and it’s better to make a short summary first to help students finish them better.
Step4. Reflection
Encourage the students to discuss what they have learnt and talk about their problems and strategies when doing exercises related to them.
Step5. Homework
1. Finish the exercise in the learning paper to consolidate what has been taught.
2. Write a passage about the coming sporting meeting, using as many as non-finite verbs as possible.
